WHY African Diaspora United?
As a people we are incredibly resilient. We have withstood and persevered centuries of exploitation, extraction, theft of identity and intellectual property, racism, disenfranchisement, marginalization, brutality, and a long list of other injustices. As a result, it is understandable that our communities, on both sides of the Atlantic, are fractured and in need of cooperative repair.
In 2022, Tim Goler, Tim Tramble, and Marcus Walton established African Diaspora United to explore the impact of bringing black communities together on the African continent to confront our history, address our present, and strategize for a better future using the principles of Ubuntu (community), I am because we are; and Umoja (unity), accord in the family, community, nation, and race.
